Dear Golden Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed their spring break week! Hopefully your children are ready to come back and finish the year strong! We only have 8 short weeks of the school year remaining and a lot to accomplish!

Thank you to all of our families who came out to Open House last Thursday before Spring Break! It was another beautiful night full of joy, community, and a showcase of excellence. We appreciate all of our families, and we thank you for being our partners in your child's educational journey.

Mark your calendars - Lunch with a Loved One returns on April 29th and May1st. Please see all the details below, but we are excited to welcome our families back on campus to eat lunch!

We will also be celebrating Golden's 60th Anniversary in May! We have exciting surprises in store! A huge thanks to our amazing PTA who recently purchased a special celebratory t-shirt for EVERY STUDENT AND EVERY STAFF MEMBER! Stay tuned for more exciting news and updates!

This week, Student Council is sponsoring a canned food drive to help families in need. This is a student driven service project - so please help our students reach their goals and help others!

For now, I hope you are rested and ready for the rigor of school to resume! You know I am! Let's kick it off with some positivity on Motivational Monday!

Dear Golden Families,

I can't believe we are five short days until our Spring Break. I hope you and your family make memories and enjoy your time! But before that break... We have our annual Open House and we could not be more excited!

Our PTA Association Meeting begins at 5:30 PM in our MPR which includes our Honorary Service Awards! All are welcome!

Classrooms will be open from 6:30 -7:30PM.

Come celebrate the amazing work that showcases all the learning that takes place at Golden! Plus, this night is full of community! Our Book Fair will be open all night in the library!

Dear Golden Families,

This week we are excited for our annual Battle of the Books! We have 119 participants and 23 teams! We are so proud of our Golden Eagles for taking on this huge challenge! We can't wait for Wednesday!

Attention families with 3rd through 6th grade students - CAASPP testing will start in May. All 3rd-6th Grade classes will be testing May 12th - 30th. Please be sure to keep these dates in mind. Attendance is always important but it is even more so during this time. A letter will be going home soon with more information, but we wanted you to be aware of Golden's Statewide CAASPP testing window.

Remember to register any TK or Kindergarten students now!

Dear Golden Families,

We are excited for another wonderful week at Golden! I'm so happy to have our sixth grade students back from camp! They had an amazing week of science, learning, and thanks to the weather, a lot of snow play!

Congratulations to last week's Attendance Challenge Winners! Ms. Baize and Mrs. Bloomquist's Classes were our Week 1 Winners. Week 2 Winners will be announced tomorrow! Remember, your child's academic success depends on strong attendance!

Thursday is our very first TK-2 Literacy Night where we Taco About Books! If you have not registered, please do so ASAP. We have many fun activities such as read alouds, book tastings, crafts, bookmarks, library resources, interactive reading tools for families, and so much more! We can't wait to Taco About Reading on Thursday night. All families who attend will be given the book, Dragons Love Tacos. Please make sure you are registered!

If you have neighbors on your street with young children, please help in letting them know they need to register ASAP for TK or Kindergarten based on their age. The district will put a capacity and the classes might actually fill, requiring families to attend other schools - so be sure to register by April! Your help in getting families to register early is appreciated!

Report Cards go home Friday and they will also be available on Aeries on Saturday! It is a good time to look over progress and grades and celebrate their hard work! Your children have been working so hard and we are so proud of them. It is also a good time to set goals for third trimester so your chid can finish strong and be ready for the 2025-26 school year!

Dear Golden Families,

Wow! It is a whole new world! What an amazing show - Aladdin Junior was exceptional! We are so proud of all our Golden Eagles who performed! HUGE THANKS to all the volunteers who made this production happen. It takes a village, and I am so grateful for our strong community!

This week's attendance champions will be announced tomorrow morning! Remember attending school has a direct correlation to student learning and achievement! If your child could be in school, they should be in school! Attend to Achieve!

This week our sixth grade students will be heading off to Science Camp! This is a wonderful opportunity, and we are excited for the adventures that lay ahead. Please note - Monday arrival for valet for all students may be a bit more hectic with sixth grade families dropping off luggage and signing students in. Sixth grade families - please remember to park along Golden Avenue and walk your child up to the check in stations near the George Key parking lot. Please do not park in the Golden or George Key staff parking lot. Come early to alleviate any stress. We can't wait to hear all about your trip!

Finally, Mrs. Dempsey and I will be at our Shamrock N Run on March 16th! I hope you all sign up to join us in support of our REACH Foundation. It should be a fun day and the sign up is below!

Dear Golden Families,

It is show week! I cannot wait to watch all three casts this week perform Aladdin Jr. To all of our students - break a leg (well only figuratively of course)! I hope everyone enjoys the show!

We also are beginning our Attendance Challenges! Each week we will have two winning classes! "Do-Nut" miss a day of school unless your child is sick! Please review the slide show resources linked below to find out more benefits of coming to school each day!

Friday marks the end of trimester 2 and is a minimum day with a 12:45 pm dismissal for all students in K-6. TK students are all Early Birds on this day, and go home at 12:10 pm.

Also don't forget to nominate a teacher, staff member, or volunteer who exhibits the heart of Golden for our annual PTA Honorary Service awards! We could not be "Golden" without the endless amounts of service of our community. The deadline is Friday to submit your nomination.

Finally, please help us round up as many TK or Kindergarten students for next year. Of course they can wait to register later this spring or summer; however, we are already looking at staffing numbers for next year. TK spots will not be guaranteed at Golden if we go over our maximum number. What can you do? Register now to secure your spot! Tell your neighbors with little kids to register soon!
